"Brian"
Look, I just work here...
My
Name:
Brian
Studio Name:
South Florida Tattoo Company
About Me:
I've been tattooing for 15 years, almost entirely in Port Saint Lucie
and Fort Pierce Florida. Portraits are my specialty with color bomb work
coming in a close second. I cant think of a reason to like cover-up work
but until I am fantastically wealthy it helps pay my bills. Some
of my thoughts about tattoos:
1.
Tribal is beat. BEAT! Get over it.
2.
"Shopping" for tattoos should consist of portfolio browsing and artist
consultation- NOT PRICE. Ever bargain shopped for a surgeon? Think about
it.
3.
If you say something like- "I'll just get this for now... I can always
cover it up later." YOU SHOULD BE SHOT...
4.
IT HURTS! For God sakes it hurts! It's somewhere between a bee sting and
an ant bite. If that doesn't explain it well enough, get one and become
an expert.
5.
"What do you think I should get?" is a question you should ask at a FAsT
food restaurant, not at a tattoo shop. It's your skin.
6.
"I want it now!" Doesn't work here. Artists creativity is not "on tap".
Time and patience are greatly rewarded in tattooing.
7.
A single small tattoo on a body part can be sexy. Small tattoos all over
the place make you look like a comic book that threw up.
8.
Anyone who says they are the best, aren't. Anyone who says they are the
cheapest, probably are. Anyone who says I can do anything, shouldn't be
tattooing - they should be getting our country outta this mess...
9.
DON'T get lovers or spouses names! Unless your last name is "Charming"
you're probably not going to live happily ever after, don't waste the
money. *Refer to #3
10. When you look at a portfolio, shut up and look at it. Don't half ass
flip through pages while you chatter box with your friends - it insults
the artist and shows you're insincere about your interest.
About My Ink:
I
prefer color to black and white on myself. I sport quite a few
"self-induced" tattoos- most of which I am not proud of; results of the
trials and tribulations of learning to tattoo. Recently I have began the
trek of getting my sleeves worked out, the results have been terrific- I
owe them to Mykill and "Famous" Rob, co-workers of mine at South Florida
Tattoo.
